so, who am I?
Hello! My name is Sarah L’Heureux (pronounced la-roo).
I am a licensed clinical therapist and registered art therapist who has also survived hardships and has since dedicated the last 12 years to assisting my clients in navigating some very tough shit*
I am passionate about the creative arts, healing practices, and cultural diversity. From a young age, I was desperate to make sense of the world, and the best way I found to do so was to create art and seek out the stories of the voiceless – because, as you guessed it, I once felt voiceless too. My personal encounters help me to connect with you, ensuring that you are seen and your voice is heard.
My education informs my practice, just as my personal journey and experiences do. I hold the belief that art provides a voice when words fall short. This conviction led me to pursue a Master's Degree of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse environments. Throughout my 13-year career as a therapist, I have practiced in schools, jails, homeless outreach centers, halfway houses, private practices, substance abuse and mental health residential treatment centers, and now, here with you!
